Early Times Report Srinagar, June 1: The Chenab Valley Power Project Corporation Limited has clarified that the under construction steel bridge at Bhandarkot, Kishtwar, has not buckled. "In fact, a small portion of one side of the bridge was sagged due to loosening of one of its holding rope out of 8 holding ropes. The bridge is fully intact and the erection work of bridge is going on smoothly," a CVPP spokesperson said in a statement on Friday. "More so, this kind of happening is quite normal during erection of any steel girder of gigantic size. It is also reported that there is no cause of worry as no damage done to bridge and the erection of bridge would continue and shall be completed as per schedule with utmost quality," the spokesperson said, adding that this kind of incidence "is of routine nature and the bridge shall be completed in time." |
