Anantnag: BMO, aide attached for drawing salaries of fake appointees

Anantnag, June 1: The Health Department on Friday attached a Block Medical Officer and a Junior Assistant for committing huge financial irregularities by drawing salaries of fake appointees.
As per official documents accessed by Early Times, in-charge BMO Sallar, B S Tulla Singh, and Junior Assistant Mohmmad Yaseen Shah have released the salaries of those employees who stand included in the list of 133 fake appointees, in violation of the instructions of administrative department, Health and Medical Education and Director of Health Services Kashmir.
According to the order issued by Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, both the officials have been found committing huge financial irregularities. "Both of them are hereby attached to Directorate of Health Services Kashmir with immediate effect," reads the order.
Dr Mohammad Ashraf Padder, in-charge BMO Mattan has been directed to take over the charge of BMO Sallar along with drawing and disbursing powers in addition to his own duties.
Important to mention here that in 2012, the Directorate of Audit and Inspections Jammu and Kashmir Finance Department pointed out 2274 illegal appointments across the Valley, resulted in withholding salaries of these illegally appointees.
The Law and parliamentary Affairs department also revealed in 2014 that 2274 employees are illegally appointed. However, the Health department released the salaries of these illegal and fake appointees excluding 133 of Anantnag district.
Illegal appointments pointed out by Audit and Inspections J&K Finance Department in Srinagar were 216, Budgam 259, Pulwama 83, Bandipora 160, Ganderbal 97, Kupwara 153, Kulgam 190, Shopian 81 and Baramulla 509.
Anantnag district in South Kashmir topped the list with 526 fake appointees; however over the years the list of fake appointees has decreased to just 133.
