| Locals block Jammu -Pathankote National Highway | | Erratic power supply | |  Early Times Report
Kathua, June 1: The residents of Rajbagh blocked Jammu-Pathankote National Highway for more than an hour against the power failure since last several days. The protesters including the youth in large numbers came on the National Highway at Rajbagh Morh and sat on dharna against the power failure in the area since many days.
The protesters raised anti PDD slogans. Following the protest dharna, there was a huge traffic jam on NH and long queues of the vehicles were seen on both tubes sides of NH and passengers faced inconvenience for hours.
The protesters Kulbir singh and Rajinder alleged that the whole area is under total black out due to power failure and not only the residents, but the businessmen are also facing problems due to power failure.
A team of Police led by SHO Rajbagh and PDD officers reached on the spot to pacify the people and assured them to restore the power as early as possible and appealed them to lift the NH blockade. On their assurance the traffic was restored after one hour. |
