Jammu, June 1: The Training and Placement Cell at Model Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jammu in its continuous endeavor to generate employment opportunities for students, has gained success in generating employment for more than 100 students of outgoing batch of Engineering and School of Management in different corporate houses. The top recruiters for engineering students included Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Bengaluru (5.5 lakh per annum), Tech Aspect, Hyderabad/Jammu (3.7 lakh per annum), Infineon Technologies, Bengaluru (3.5 Lakh per annum), MindTree Technologies, Hyderabad (2.8 Lakh per annum), Astech Technologies, Mumbai (3.3 lakh per annum), Just Dial, New Delhi (3 Lakh per annum), Trigent Software Bengaluru/Hyderabad. (2.8 Lakh per annum) and Mehta Movers, Mumbai (3 Lakh per annum). The placement process is currently in progress and around 5 companies are lined up for ensuring 100 percent placements of the eligible engineering students. Some of the top companies where MIET students have completed the process and are awaiting final offers include Manhattan Associates, Net Magic, Aricent Technologies and Dimension Data. Maximum salary package of Rs.5.5 Lakhs/annum was offered by HPE to 2 students of Computer Science and Engineering Department whereas the average salary package offered was 2.9 LPA. Moreover, the students selected by Infineon Technologies, Bengaluru are expected to get elevated to a package of Rs. 10 lakhs per annum. Around eight students from MIET are already working with Infineon and have been placed in the pay band of Rs. 10 Lakhs per annum post completion of eleven months of R&D internship. The School of Management at the Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) concluded its placement season with 100% placements of the eligible students for the graduating batch of MBA students. This was informed by Prof. P.N Sharma, Head, MIET School of Management along with Dean Placements and Training, Prof. B.C Sharma. Thirty Three offers of employment were received by MBA students from top corporate houses such as HDFC Bank, Jammu (4.32 lakh per annum), VIMTA Labs Hyderabad (3.92 Lakh per annum), Apollo Munich, New Delhi (3.5 Lakh per annum), GATI, Jammu (2.9 Lakh per annum), Zunroof Tech, Jammu, (2.64 Lakh per annum), DHFL Pramerica Jammu (2.5 Lakh per annum), Trigent Software, Bengaluru (2.4 Lakh per annum) and ICICI Prudential, Jammu (2 Lakh per annum). Maximum salary of Rs. 4.32 lakh per annum were received by 5 students at a top private bank, followed by 3.9 lakh per annum at a Hyderabad basedTechnology Company. The average salary for the 2016-18 batch was 2.60 lakhs per annum. Finally, the PG Department of Computer Applications (MCA) reported placement of 37 students at Rooman Technologies, Bengaluru under a hire-and-train model. They will be eligible to receive a package of Rs. 2.5 lakhs per annum on completion of the training period during final semester.
