Early Times Report Jammu, June 8: As many as 129 followers of Sant Nirankari Mission donated their blood during the Sant Nirankari Samagam here today. The blood was collected by a team led by Dr. Lubna Naseer of Blood Transfusion Medicine Department of GMC, Jammu in association of the staff of SKME Hospital, Batote. Before the beginning of the Sant Samagam the Blood Donation Camp was inaugurated by Brijmohan Sethi , In-Charge,Sant Nirankari Mandal, Delhi in presence of BP Singh, Zonal In-Charge,Organiser,Sant Nirankari Mandal, Batote, Mulkhraj, MLC,Sham Lal Bhagat, Ex- MLA, Chenani, Krishen Chand Bhagat, Congress District President Women Wing, Narinder Kour and Naib- Tehsildar, Saifullah Shah. Sethi informed that so far 9,50,000 units of blood have so far been collected through 5,600 camps across the country and 76000 units of.blood have been collected through 460 camps in last year. The Sant Nirankari Mission is running 4 hospitals, 133 dispensaries, 9 Patholoigical labs, 8 dental clinics and 5 eye centres across the country. The Blood Donation Camps have been organized every year since 1986 started by Sant Baba Hardev Singh on the memory of his father Baba Gurbachan Singh Maharaj who had said that the blood must flow in veins and not in drains. On the occasion the bhajans were sung by devotees and sermons were given by the pool prominent persons including MLC, SL Bhagat. |
