Home department takes casteism to higher degree, categorizes officers in deputation order

Early Times Report
Jammu, June 8: Even when the Jammu University administration had to apologise for 'inadvertently' categorizing its employees, the Home Department of Jammu and Kashmir government hasn't learnt a lesson and has repeated the 'mistake' by segregating police officials by their categories, which otherwise was needless.
According to the deputation orders released by Home department, the police officials deputed for ensuing Amarnath Yatra have been needlessly categorized.
The order No. 719 (ISA) of 2018 dated 07-06-2018 issued by the Home department of Jammu and Kashmir with subject "deputation of Police Officers to Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board for deployment as Deputy Camp Directors during Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2018" citing reference "Letter no. SASB/609/20181234 dated 29-05-2018 from Chief Executive officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board" reads that sanction is hereby accorded to the deputation of the following officers Dy SP to Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board, on short term basis for duties as Deputy Camp Directors for Shri Amarnathji Yatra, 2018.
The department also uploaded this controversial order on official website of the department mentioning category with the names of the Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySsP) which was needless to mention.
The department deputed twelve Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySsP) as Deputy Camp Directors for Amarnathji Yatra, 2018 who are posted at different places.
Talking to Early Times some of the officers said that the order did not surprise them as this isn't the first time when they have had to face such embarrassment over their caste.
"If we don't speak, it will become a routine and the possibilities are there that in the future, the administration will tag us as Schedule Caste 1st, Schedule Caste 2nd and so on," said a police officer.
Raj Kumar Goyal, Principal Secretary to the Govt Home Department, J&K when contacted said "It can be a human error and we would rectify it".
It is pertinent to mention here that it was late Maharaja Hari Singh who would worship girls from the Dalit community to try end the culture of untouchability and also sacked the priest of Raghunathan temple when he had found that the priest had refused entry to the lower castes despite his explicit orders.
