Public miseries increase as teachers, Patwaris continue strike | | | Ashwani Sharma Early times report Udhampur, June 8: The pen down strike of Patwar Association here has entered 26th day today demanding a hike in salaries and some other issues whereas the ReT teachers are demanding release of their salaries and are too on strike for that. Both these strikes have caused inconvenience to public and the concerned authorities are paying no heed to this. The strike of Patwaris is hindering the public works related to revenue department while the strike of teachers is badly affecting the education of children. Sohan Lal a social activist told Early Times that corruption among Patwaris is so high that even for issuing a Farad and doing other works they illegally charge hefty amount from the public. . "First of all the government should bring accountability in the working of revenue department and then think over the salary hike of patwaries ," he maintained. Already the Patwaris are getting approximately Rs. 25-35 thousand as monthly salary. Another demand of the Patwaries is that the appointment of Tehsildar should not be from KAS officers but it should be made through promotions. |
