KATRA, June 8: A two week summer school-cum-FDP on "Language,\ Literature and Interpretation: Theory and Praxis", organized by the School of Languages and Literature concluded at SMVDU on 8th June, 2018. The workshop was inaugurated on 28th May, 2018 where 40 students participated in this event including outstation participants and speakers from various parts of the nation. The main topics covered were New Criticism, Cyber Literature, Indian Literary Theories, Critical Language Awareness, Reflective Approach in Learning, Lacan and the Problem of desire, Theorizing theory and Practicing Praxis, Intrinsic Relationship between the writer and writing, and alike. The resource persons at the event included outstation speakers such as Prof. Rajnish Mishra, Prof. Rajnish Arora, Prof. Vandana Lunyal, Prof. V.K. Mishra, Prof. Deepsheekha Kotwal, Prof. Balaji Ranganathan and Prof. NDR Chandra and the in-house speakers included Sumantha Sharma, Dr. Anil Tewari, Dr. Amitabh Vikram Dwivedi and Dr. Anurag Kumar. The workshop concluded with a quiz test to assess the level of learning of the participants. The winners of the quiz, Dr. Sumit Sharma of GDC Banihal and Dr. Rahul Chaturvedi of BHU were awarded cash prizes in the valedictory session by Dr Yugal Khajuria, Dean, Students Welfare and Dr. Anil Tewari, Head, School of Philosophy and Culture.
