Early Times Report Jammu, June 17: Shortage of doctors and paramedical staff has hit healthcare across Chenani constituency. Sources informed Early Times that the lone Community Health Centre, Chenani which caters more than hundred mountainous villaged, was upgraded in year of 2007 at CHC level with a cost of Rs 13.41 Crores and the hospital made functional in 2014, but then the health department has failed to provide requisite manpower in term of specialist doctors and paramedical staffs, resulting, most of patient come here to get advance treatment have return empty hands. "It can be corroborated from the manpower provided by state government in the hospital. Against the sanctioned strength of specialist doctors and Medical officers, there are eight posts of doctors lying vacant in CHC, Chenani", sources said while wishing anonymity. Sources further said that there are three specialist post of doctors including Surgeon Specialist, Anaesthetist and Dental surgeon and three Medical Officers (MOs) posts weren't fulfilled by the health department since long times. Besides two MOs posts under National Health Mission are also lying vacant. Whereas, one each post of Head Pharmacist, Supervisory Dental Technician, Senior Lab Technician and Jr. Staff Nurse are also not fulfilled so far. In PHC, Ghordi nearly 11 post of doctors and paramedical staff are lying vacant wherein two each post of Assistant surgeon and CHO are lying vacant while one each post of Dental surgeon, Health Educator, LHV, Account Assistant, Food Inspector and Nursing orderly were also lying vacant. PHC, Sudhmahadev has a similar story to tell where one post of MBBS doctors under NHM is vacant and In PHC Gharian five posts including one each of C.H.O., Health Educator, Supervisory Pharmacist, Jr Staff nurse and Jr. Dental Technician were also lying vacant. "In PHC, Jananoo, New Type of Public Health Centre (NTPHC), Madha and PHC Latti where two each posts of Medical officers also lying vacant", said sources. Sources alleged that all the upgraded NTPHC from Sub Centre where health department sanctioned one each post of Medical officer mandatory, has been craving for want of medical officers and senior pharmacist deputed there, has run the show in absence of doctors. |
