Dy CM kick starts development works in Sanjay Nagar

JAMMU, June 17: Reiterating government's commitment to provide better basic amenities to the people at their doorsteps, Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta today said that various development activities have been launched across the state to provide safe drinking water, better sewerage, lanes and drains and hygienic surroundings in every nook and corner of the state. The Deputy CM said this while interacting with people after kick starting blacktopping works at Sanjay Nagar Main Road, coming up at an estimated cost of Rs. 60 lakh. The development work has been executed by R&B Department.
He further said the government is committed to equip the urban peripheral areas of the state with all basic facilities like road connectivity, drinking water, power, education healthcare, besides better lanes and drains. In this regard, the government has prepared a comprehensive plan to fulfill all the aspirations of the people of these areas, he added.
Kavinder Gupta said an effective monitoring mechanism has been put in place to enforce accountability and transparency in the implementation of developmental schemes. He directed the concerned officers to personally monitor the quality of execution of the work, adding that, there should be no compromise on quality. He said that government would create durable assets in the state under core sectors for this purpose there was no constraint of funds.
Earlier, the Deputy CM also attended a public meeting at Dugra Nagar and listened to the grievances and demands of Kashmiri migrants residing there. He assured them that all their genuine demands would be addressed at the earliest.
While highlighting numerous projects being executed in the state, Kavinder Gupta said that present dispensation is working tirelessly to benefit the common masses through several developmental initiatives being executed in the state, besides augmenting the existing infrastructure of numerous sectors of the government.
Among others, MLA Nowshera Ravinder Raina, MLCs Surinder Ambardar and Ajay Bharti were present on the occasion.
Later, the Deputy CM also pay obeisance at Gurudwara Arjun Dev Ji at Domana.
