Early Times Report

Sunderbani, June 25: The administrative works in tehsil Sunderbani have been always under the scanner as none of the department is free of corrupt practices that has put public to great hardships.
For instance, recently Power Development Department has taken many by surprise as the formal orders of installing air conditioners in the tehsil town and the actual installed ACs have a big difference.
As per the official record of the billing of the payment of units charged from the AC users, the amount is billed against only 30 to 40 in the PDD knowledge while the town is running at a capacity of nearly 200 ACs installed in various households, offices and shops in the Sunderbani town.
Though such illegal activity is well under the knowledge of Assistant Executive Engineer and Junior engineer in the PDD, no action has been initiated from any corner, thus putting all other power users of the town to greater hardships leaving them fluctuating power scenario under the scorching summer days.
When contacted the AEE expressed ignorance about ACs running above the PDD knowledge which amply points that the officer is well versed with the illegal activity being done in his jurisdiction.
The residents of the town allege that since AEE and JE are well aware of the situation, they are deliberately not taking any action as the department is in hand in glove with the illegal users of the ACs from where they get a handsome amount in return.
The pilferage of the electricity in the town due to extra burden of air conditions installed on low voltage excess in the area has put all the people in hardship who lament that low voltage does not even cater to running of fans leaving them sweltering whole days and night.
The people of the area has appealed to the Governor N N Vohra to take the cognizance of the matter and relieve the people of the hardships in the town which is taken as hostage by the concerned AEE and JE of PDD who are running the network.
