| SDM to initiate inquiry in Panchayat allotment to TA in Mankote | | | M S Nazki

Poonch, July 3: Taking strong note of the development that a technical assistant in Mankote block has been given 6 panchayats of Mendhar block and 4 Panchayats of Mankote block which was against the norms of MGNREGA, an inquiry will be initaited soon, Sub Divisional Magistrate Mendhar Dr Tanvir Khan said here today.
Taking cognizance of Early Times report, SDM said that technical assistant Chiragdin was holding six Panchayats of Mendhar unauthorisedly and several other technical assistants even had not a single panchayat where as Chiragdin was posted in Mankote block .
He has been using some unfair means and for this ACD Poonch and BDO Mankote have to be accountable, he added.
Coming down heavily on the working of Block Development officer Mankote, Dr Tanvir said a culture of 25% commission on every MGNREGA work has been created in the block which is charged from the gullible labourers under the nose of tehsil and administartion was cause of concern and whosoever is found guilty will be dealt with an iron hand , he added
Meanwhile salaries of AEE PHE Subdivision Mendhar Munir Khan and JE Shazia Kousar have been withheld for keeping a water tanker at the disposal of a local leader who used it for construction of his shopping complex while as loclas were craving for every single drop of drinking water.
Both the officials have been chargesheeted and asked to show cause notice served favouritism to local leader with in three days . |
