Does JKPDC have a Latin connection?
7/3/2018 10:56:54 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, July 3: The Jammu and Kashmir State Power Development Corporation (JKSPDC) could have some connection with erstwhile "Roman empire" and "Latin" language and keeping the tradition, it has updated their website with information in Latin, reader of which might be remotely available across India.
It could be incomprehensible for whom the Corporation authorities have updated the information. A cursory glance at the website of JKSPDC, www.jkspdc.nic.in, if one clicked at the option projects, it would open two options, Operational projects and Projects under construction.
If someone clicked on option Projects under construction, it gives information of Aharbal and BHEP dam with some photographs of pondage, machinery and power house.
When the option, "Know More" (about dams) is opened, it gives information which reads, "Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim veniam, quis nostrud exercitation ullamco laboris nisi ut aliquip ex ea commodo consequat. Duis aute irure dolor in reprehenderit in voluptate velit esse cillum dolore eu fugiat nulla pariatur. Excepteur sint occaecat cupidatat non proident, sunt in culpa qui officia deserunt mollit anim id est laborum".
When the same text was pasted on the Google, it emerged out to be a text in Latin language and also had a connection with Cicero-Roman rhetorician.
The "Lorem ipsum" is also called "filler text" and (erroneously) "Greek copy". But the question arises but the text is doing at the website of the JKSPDC and moreover in the "Know More" option against 6 photographs, the same text "Lorem ipsum..........laborum" is pasted twice.
"In the age of digital revolution, it is clear that the JKSPDC administration gives least priority to the website maintenance. It also reflects the seriousness of the department officials", an official said, adding that the JKSPDC is not an isolated case but there are number of government department's website, on which obsolete information is updated.
