NSS volunteers started waste mapping of Ratnal

Bishnah, July 3: On the 7th day of Swachh Bharat Summer Internship-2018, the interns from Govt. Degree College Bishnah started the Waste Mapping of the adopted panchayat Ratnal.
The Nodal Officer for the Summer Internship, Prof Amit Kumar Sharma divided the interns into three teams to physically visit every nook and corner of the three villages namely Ratnal, Kothey Sainian and Chak Hasal and to prepare a map of the heaps of waste and the cleanliness of drains and streets of these villages.
The waste mapping has been done so as to plan the Swachata Drives in the panchayats accordingly in the 2nd phase of the Summer Internship.During the waste mapping, the interns interacted with the panches of the panchayats who gave them the inputs as to where the people usually throw their waste and how it can be controlled.
After the waste mapping was over, a plantation drive was started by the interns from the Govt Middle School Ratnal by planting plants there.
The plantation drive shall continue in the 2nd phase of the internship at the panchayats Ratnal and Chorli. With this the first phase of the internship is over and the 2nd phase shall start at Ratnal and Chorli panchayats afer a week.
