Jammu, July 3: In order to curb the menace of theft/burglary in city South area of district Jammu, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu-Vivek Gupta constituted special teams for apprehending the thieves/burglars and City South police claimed to have arrested four thieves and recovered 11 tola stolen gold ornaments and laptops worth Rs 4 lakh from theer possession. The teams after hectic efforts arrested four notorious burglars namely who have been identified as Ravi Kumar of Nud Akhnoor Jammu, Sunil Kumar of Resham Ghar Colony presently staying at Dolan Bari Brahamana Samba, Davinder Singh of Kothi Bhatal Ramban and Mohan Singh of Pouni Kheralair Reasi. Police spokesman said that during questioning all the four thieves confessed their involvements in number of burglary cases at Jammu city and its outskirts area and on their disclosure gold ornaments i.e. 03 ladies golden rings, 03 gents gold rings, 01 golden kada, 01 gold bangle, 02 pairs of gold ear tops, 02 pairs of gold jhumka, 02 gold lockets, 02 gold tikkas, 01 gold nath, 01 gold necklace and one gold mangalsutra stolen from Bashi Nagar/Shakti Nagar/Gangyal area have been recovered and one laptop stolen from Channi area has also been recovered. It is pertinent to mentioned here that all the above mentioned accused persons are notorious burglars and involved in number of theft/burglary cases and out of them Ravi Kumar was recently released from custody after serving 5 years of imprisonment. The questioning of the accused persons are going on and possibility of more recoveries at this stage cannot be ruled out. The arrest and recovery has been made by Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia-SHO Gandhi Nagar, SI Nayat Ali-SHO Gangyal assisted by SI Kali Charan-in-charge police post Digiana and SI Sandeep Charak-in-charge police post Nehru Market under the supervision of DySP Rafiq Manhas-SDPO City South and in-charge SP City South-Vinay Kumar. |
