Early Times Report Rajouri, July 13: Influential people including political activists in nexus with local government officials have encroached several kanals of state/ departmental land in Rajnagar town under Kotranka sub divison in Rajouri district. Sources said the land encroached belongs to under construction government degree college (GDC), higher secondary school, Primary Health Centre (PHC), Sheep & Husbandry department, PWD Dak Bunglow, Irrigation & Flood Control (I&FC) department, Shamlat Deh (Ghair Mumkin Kassi) etc. and the encroachers have been backed by a nexus of corrupt officers within the department. Several anti-encroachment drives were initiated by the district administration under the directions and in the presence of Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhry , DDC (now DDC ,Bandipora) during last six months, during which the district administration retrieved hundreds of Kanals of illegally encroached land from, Rajouri, Thanamandi, Kalakot, Sunderbani , Kotranka etc towns. Kotranka administration is aware about these encroachments and under the supervision of Shafiq Ahmed, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kotranka has chalked out a plan to evict the encroached land in Rajnagar (Budhal) town. "Yes a eight member commission headed by Mohd Rafiq,tehsildar, Kotranka has already been constituted for the demarcation / eviction of the encroached land in Rajnagar town" said ADC. Other members of the commission include Khurshid Tantray, naib tehsildar , Budhal, Mohd Qayoom, naib tehsildar, Kandi;hokat Ali , all Patwris of Mehra, Kewal & Keri respectively. "The specific complaint was against the owner of the land who had sold the land to Sheep & Husbandry department and has made illegal encroachments during last few days. The land was measured, demarcated and fenced by the department officials' today" said ADC. Shafiq Ahmed , ADC added the eviction process will be initiated in the presence of police force , concerned naib tehsildar, patwari, GQ Rajnagar circle and concerned senior officials from the affected departments and CO, 110,RCC (GREF). |
