BJP activists usurp incomplete Community hall, administration unmoved | | | Arun Jasrotia Early Times Report Udhampur, July 13: Workers of the local BJP have locked the incomplete community hall at Suneter village of Udhampur district and made it their private property even as the department concerned has failed to complete the said building even after three years. Though the structure was completed, the department did not care to complete the allied work including electrical and plumbing work, which gave the musclemen to usurp the public building. Despite repeated pleas by the locals, authorities have not taken any action to complete the said community hall, which was constructed for social functions of the people of the village. Khem Raj, a local from Suneter while talking to Early times said that even as work was yet to complete, the BJP workers, annoyed over a public meeting organized by the panthers party in the said hall, locked it and did not allow any further work. He added that the entire idea of constructing the community hall has been defeated by these people as the poor people are still forced to hold their social functions including marriages in private banquet halls, spending their hard earned money. Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Ravinder Kumar when contacted said that he will ask the concerned officer to submitted a detailed report that why the work on the said community hall had not been completed. He also assured to get the possession of the hall for the general public soon. |
