Early Times Report
Nowshera , July 13: Reinstated following his suspension in huge financial fraud in the rural development department Sunderbani, wherein government money was transferred illegally in his personal account, a village level worker is continuing with his dubious activities and evading action.
The Rural Development Department Sunderbani suffered a serious setback in December 2016 when a Village Level Worker was found guilty of a large scale bungling in the department and was shown door.
The prompt action from the department had come only when Early Times had exhaustively reported about the misdeeds of the department.
However soon after his suspension, the VLW was again reinstated and since then has been enjoying the position as held earlier by him. Since then, it is now two years that no action has been initiated against the fraudster.
The fraud came into the light in 2016 when a VLW namely Roshan Lal was found to be masterminding the MGNREGA works of the Rural Development Department ( RDD) .
Roshan Lal had withdrawn a huge sum of RS 33, 97, 773 from the RDD against works to be executed for MGNREGA against the payment to be given to the workers.
Following investigations as to how a VLW was made RDD incharge for transferring the huge amount in his J&K Grameen Bank Bagnoti under his account no 0059, it was found that he had made payments to the people who were not illegible, including blind , physically disabled and of other categories who do not fall in the category of MGNREGA .
Block Development Officer Jagan Nath who had reported the misdeeds of Roshan Lal said that despite the suspension order released, the culprit was reinstated within no time without any action from anywhere.
People of Sunderbani have now appealed to the Governor N N Vohra to take a prompt action , guide the State Vigilance Office ( SVO) to take up the RDD Sunderbani matter on priority so that all corrupt deals of the department are exposed.
