JU students conduct plantation drive | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 13: Continuing with their efforts for the cleanliness, the Jammu University students started plantation drive in the Trilokpur village. The senior volunteers of Jammu University namely Vikas Pandita (M.C.A. dept), Vivek Parihar (Chemistry dept), Harpreet Singh (Dogri dept) and Gotam Sharma (Dogri dept) planted about 100 saplings of plants in the village. The plantation drive is a part of Swachh Bharat Summer Internship Programme. Despite heavy rainfall, the volunteers didn't lose their hope and came with full dedication to continue their work for the cleanliness of village. Under the Swachh Bharat Summer Internship, the volunteers who had opted for Trilokpur village falling under the Marh Constituency, had earlier organised Cricket tournament for the youth of Trilokpur Village with the theme "Stay Away from drugs". The volunteers had also organised Fitness Camp for the youth with the aim of awaring youth about the importance of fitness. The volunteers had also organised drawing competition for the kids of village. The volunteers also conducted survey in the village regarding various topics. The local people of village are also coordinating very well in this programme. |
