Jammu, July 13: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) of Jammu and Kashmir leader S Deep Singh has expressed wonder over the mindset of politicians and bureaucrats, who compared Lokayukta with state graft bodies State Accountability Commission (SAC) and other. "Frequent amendments, the SAC & SVC, have become mere toothless Tigers & are in fact have become ornamental rather than anything else of public utility as engaging a pleader for these bodies, it is beyond the approach of a common man", Singh said, adding that state government as per survey conducted by an Independent NGO-the Transparency International, already stands placed at S.No.1 amongst all Indian states in respect of corruption and it is a clear signal that the SAC & SVC have not laid a significant impact on the menace of corruption in the state and thus formation of "LOKAYUKAT" institution is need of the hour. Prominent among those who attended the meeting included Farooq Ahmad Banday, Ram Singh Chauhan, Kuldeep Kumar Rao, Om Parkash Khajuria, Raj Kumar Nischal Sudershan Singh Jamwal ,Ram Pal Khajuria, Mehar Singh, & Rameshwar Samyal. |
