| Gammon India made bridge develops cracks at Dhramthal | | |  Arun Jasrotia

Udhampur, July 14: Gammon India Private Construction company which has responsibility for widening Jammu Srinagar National Highway is in trouble as a big crack has developed on under construction bridge near 83 Point Dhramthal in Udhampur district.
Reliable sources said that many days ago the crack developed and the Gammon India workers tried to hide the said crack with huge polythene sheet. However sudden wind exposed the Gammon India work as the wind blew away the polythene sheet away which was hiding the crack.
Sources disclosed that from two months they were planning to divert the traffic over the said bridge. They added that crack on under construction bridge is an alarm for the Government that they should check all the bridges which arr constructed by the Gammon India.
Alok Kumar Project Director Gammon India could not be contacted.
Meanwhile Deputy Commissioner Udhampur assured strong action if anybody found guilty. He added that it's a big issue and we will inquire the matter. |
