NSS Volunteers start cleanliness drive under SBSI Programme | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 14: The active volunteers of Jammu University working dedicatedly in Trilokpur village of Marh Constituency continued their Swachh Bharat Summer Internship Programme with the cleanliness drive. The senior NSS volunteers of Jammu University Vikas Pandita (M.C.A. dept) , Vivek Parihar (Chemistry dept) and Harpreet Singh (Dogri dept) launched the "Clean Trilokpur" campaign. Toiling hard under the scorching heat and humid conditions, the volunteers took brooms in their hand and cleaned the Govt School trilokpur and Panchayat ghar. Continuing with the selfless aim of making Trilokpur village a Model village, the active volunteers also used sickles and other tools to cut the bushes and other extra grown grass in the premises of school. Since the schools are going to reopen from Monday, the volunteers tried their best to make the best suitable environment for the children of school. Vikas Pandita said It was a very difficult task today as the weather conditions are not suitable because of humid atmosphere but the team has shown great spirit who didn't care about the weather conditions and finished the task with great enthusiasm. "We have been here for the past 20 days working under the SBSI programme to aware the people about the importance of cleanliness. Today we have cleaned the premises of govt school and the panchayat ghar. The conditions here were miserable but the team has done commendable job to clean both these locations", Vikas added. Harpreet Singh, student of Dogri dept and active NSS volunteer gave the brief description of future activities that will be done in the coming days in trilokpur village. |
