Jammu, July 15: The aspirants appearing in the Combined Competitive Mains Examination have alleged that over 35 percent of question paper of Urdu was out of syllabus, putting their future in jeopardy.
The officials of Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) have clarified that there was no need to worry for the discontented aspirants as there is well established mechanism to address such grievances.
After lot of hurdles, the Combined Competitive Mains Examination-2016 for 277 posts had finally begun on 2nd of July with the conduct of examination of General Studies-I and II, English and Essay writing on 2nd and 4th of July.
Then it was turn of Optional exams and on 14th of July, the JKPSC conducted optional examination of Urdu Paper-A. The total marks for the exam were 300 but aspirants alleged that over 120 marks' question paper was either out of syllabus or from the new syllabus.
Referring to certain questions, an aspirant said, "It was not part of old syllabus but it was taken from the New Syllabus notified by JKPSC in beginning of 2018, for new posts of KAS. It was from Section-B of New Syllabus titled, "Genres and their development".
They also alleged that similarly, Part-III of Question number 8 was also out of syllabus, whereas all three pats of Question number 9 were out of syllabus.
"We appeal JKPSC authorities to re-conduct the examination as most part of exam is out of syllabus and even if they would give some grace marks, the aspirants of Urdu would not made it to the final selection lists", the aspirants said.
An official of JKPSC, who wished not to be named, said there is well-established mechanism to address such grievances of the aspirants.
