JAMMU, July 15: A 15-day long special coaching camp for different sports disciplines was inaugurated by Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone, SD Singh Jamwal in a well attended function here today at Amar Singh Club. About 125 campers and coaches drawn from 8 sports disciplines of Athletics, Boxing, Basketball, Fencing, Gymnastics, Weightlifting, Wrestling and Wushu were present on the occasion. The chief guest was introduced to the campers of the 8 sports disciplines by the president J&K Olympic Association Dushyant Sharma and other officials. The main aim of the coaching camp is to pick-up outstanding players for the intensive coaching camp of one month to prepare the teams prior to the participation for the forthcoming national games. Prof Ashutosh Sharma, vice president, Indian Olympic Association & Secretary General J&K Olympic Association gave a brief account of participation of state teams in the national games and their performance. |
