Saleem Kumar to play in final | '7th World Wushu Championship Brazil' | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 15: Saleem Kumar of Jammu and Kashmir created history by becoming the first player in any sports to play in the final of the 7th World Wushu Championship at Brazil. He defeated Egypt athlete in the semi finals. He will play Iran in the Final today. Pertinent to mention here that two players were selected for the World Wushu Championship at Brazil Naveed Farooq and Saleem Kumar. Naveed lost quarter final bout with Vietnam where as Saleem defeated Uruguay, Brazil and Egypt to reserve berth in the finals of the 48kg Junior World Wushu Championship. Saleem Kumar is from Budgam district of Kashmir and has represented state at national levels so many times and have good number of medals for the state. Saleem Kumar is a promise g player of Jammu and Kashmir and has got great potential to be the star of the country in future provided he get proper facilities communicated by the chief coach of India Kuldeep Handoo. Who is already in the national wushu coaching camp for 18th Asian Games. 4 players of the Indian Junior Wishu team have reached in the finals of the 7th Junior World Wushu Championship. Saleem Kumar, Deepak Munda, Savita and Himanshu. All the four players will play finals today. The President of the Wushu Association of India Bhupender Singh Bajwa has congratulated the Indian Wushu team for the remarkable performance and wished all the finalists best of luck for the Gold medal.
