Natrang stages Hindi Play "Jangiram Ki Haveli" 7/16/2018 12:19:59 AM Early Times Report Jammu, July 15: Natrang staged a Hindi play 'Jangiram Ki Haveli' written by the famous revolutionary playwright Gursharan Singh in its weekly Sunday Theatre Series. This play was once very popular in the entire North India and has been staged for over thousand times to sensitize masses about the core issues of prevalent political corruption. The play was directed by Neeraj Kant. On the occasion, Natrang Director Sh. Balwant Thakur informed that Natrang is coming up with third theatre festival of the year featuring four different plays starting from 18th July to 21st, July, 2018 at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu daily at 6 pm The play revolves around the story of four residents of a downtrodden Haveli of "Jangiram" who died leaving the residents helpless. The "Haveli" is symbolic to the country and the residents represent the citizens of the country. The residents being overly dependent on "Jangiram" did not know how to survive without him. The residents troubled by this situation sought the help of the narrator and it helped them to awaken them and work for themselves. It prompted them to hold the elections to choose their new representative. The new representative was the same as the old one and did nothing to improve the conditions. The place they live in is in so poor condition that they are still on the same boat as they were before. The play culminates when the narrator succeeds in making the people understand that any how they have to live for themselves under no pressures and democracy is their birth right and they must understand the value of it. The revolutionary nature of the writer Gursharan Singh is depicted in the play in an energetic way. Natrang actors who acted in the play included Raheel Sharma, Manoj Kumar Lalotra, Ajay Kumar Lalotra, Imtiyaz Shah, Justin Khatri, Chahat Katyal, Afaque Khan, Mihir Gujral, Sushant Singh Charak, Rakhshit Arora and Meenakshi Bhagat. Lights were designed and executed Neeraj Kant and Shivam Singh whereas music was scored by Brijesh Avtar Sharma Sharma.
