JYF demands CBI probe in illegal appointment of Asstt Prof in JU | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, July 15: The Vice Chancellor of Jammu University (JU), Prof Ramji Dass Sharma has bye-passed all established norms and violated the rules while selecting Assistant Professors in various teaching departments just to extend undue benefits to his blue-eyed candidates. This was alleged by state President of Jammu Youth Forum (JYF), Ajaz Khan here today. Addressing media-persons, Ajaz Khan mentioned that the screening process adopted by the JU for short listing the candidates for interview was illegal as the same was not adopted under established norms. "The JU Vice Chancellor has resorted to his whims and fancies to fix the screening criterion which is not adopted in legal manner," he stated. "It's been three week since Governor Rule was imposed in Jammu and Kashmir. The Governor swiftly took over the control of administration and pulled everything up within days. Owing to his administrative skills, work culture has drastically improved in all the departments," khan said. It seems that Governor has no control over the University teachers and officials that's why he deliberately keeping himself out of the Varsity affairs so as to save his reputation, he said adding that Vice Chancellor violated UGC norms on several occasions and should have been held accountable for that but, the office of the Chancellor remained mum. "To fill the various vacant positions of Assistant Professors in different departments, the JU authorities constituted a Committee of Campus Deans to deliberate upon screening criteria to be adopted for selection of Assistant Professors. |
