| Katra businessmen up in arms against anti encroachment drive | | | Early Times Report
Reasi, July 28: Expressing displeasure over the anti encroachment drive launched by Reasi district administration against business establishment in Katra town for the past few days, the owners today came on the roads against the drive and threatened aggressive agitation.
As per reports, after getting number of complaints against encroachment, local business establishments staged protest demonstration by blocking vehicular movement. "The anti encroachment drive was being launched for the past few days at Main Bazar Katra, Banganga road, Kashmir Road, Jammu Road where shopkeepers have raised sheds in violation and illegal reharies were removed from the roads" reports said.
Angered over the drive, the owners of shops staged protest demonstration and stopped transportation movement for few hours which was later lifted. They threatened the administration that if their drive didn't stop, they will launch go on hunger strike.
While officials in the administration said that their intension is not to harm local business establishment but the encroachment will not be tolerated at any cost. |
