Advisor Vyas visits Thakrai road accident victims at GMC Jammu
Directs for providing best possible medicare facilities

Jammu, Sept 14: Advisor to Governor, B B Vyas expressed deep shock on the loss of precious lives and visited Medical College Bakshi Nagar Jammu to enquire about health condition of the persons injured in Thakrai(Kishtwar) road accident and also assess the treatment being given to them by the hospital authorities.
He was accompanied by Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, IGP Jammu, SD Singh Jamwal, DC Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, Principal Medical College Jammu and other senior officers of the Administration.
After due evaluation of the condition of injured, Advisor conveyed the directions of the Governor to provide necessary medical assistance free of cost to all the injured. He also directed the Divisional and District Authorities to depute volunteers to be attached with each of injured patients to facilitate proper treatment to them. Further, the authorities were directed to extend all the requisite support to the families of the injured and also persons accompanying them.
The Advisor said that the Government would take every possible measure to ensure that requisite relief is provided and necessary ex-gratia given to those who have lost lives in this accident.
Several passengers died in the tragic incident on Friday in Thakrai area of Kishtwar district when a vehicle in which they were travelling skidded off the track and rolled down into the Chenab river. The injured have been admitted in the Government Medical College Hospital Jammu.
The Advisor also conveyed deep sympathies to the bereaved families.
