A day before tragic incident, Ill fated vehicle Challaned by Traffic police for over loading

Kishtwar, Sept 14: The ill fated vehicle that meets with an accident on Kishtwar-Keshwan road today morning claiming the lives of 18 persons and injuries to 15 others including 9 critically was only yesterday challaned by the traffic police for overloading with 10 passengers near Bindraband some 6 KM from Kishtwar .
As per the details available with "early Times" the ill fated vehicle JK17-0663 was challaned vide No. 767879 dated 13-09-2018 for disposal in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Kishtwar at 9.31 AM on the name of the driver Ashraf Hussain son of Abdul Rashid resident of Thakrie Kishtwar holding the driving license No. 25462 issued by ARTO Kishtwar valid up to 2021.
As per this challan, the copy of which is available with "Early Times", the challan was made by District Traffic Inspector in presence of two witnesses Sg. Ct Anil Manhas and Madan Lal for overloading the vehicle with 10 passengers.
"Sir the violator was plying the vehicle from Thakrie to Kishtwar checked and found 10 passengers overload as per R/C under section 39/192 MVA" read the challan.
The vehicle was registered on the name of Yasir Ali son of Nazir Ahmed resident of Keshwan Kishtwar.
