Early Times Report
Poonch, Sept 23: All the sub-divisions of this border district including Surankote Mendhar, Mandi and Poonch are lagging behind in sports infrastruture due to official apathy, sources said here today.
They said that these sub divisions have no sports stadium or any recreational park where people could go for a walk or sit for a while. Youth have expressed their resentment over non development of these areas. Alleging the official apathy and neglect by the concerned authorities they said that our academic as well as sports infrastructure is very poor because we are not being considered for our talents yet our educational institutions lack basic facilities and sports infrastructure they added.
Sources said due to poor infrastructure in educational institutions the youth of Poonch district as a whole were up in arms against the authorities and demanded sports stadiums for schools where they could flourish their talent at least. Need of the hour was to develop sports skill as well among the youth for their larger interests; They added.
On the other hand no recreational parks have been constructed in the district where people can go to spend free time. Old people too have no place to walk freely and enjoy the nature. Govt should pay a need towards the problem and make arrangements for the same.
Meanwhile, social activist Aakash Malik has urged district authorities to consider the demand of our youth and raise sports infrastructure in sub division of Poonch to flourish the talent of youth and construct recreational parks for general public he added.
