Jammu, Sept 23: More cases of glaring misappropriation of funds by the former Director Rural Development Department (RDD) Jammu are coming to the fore and a complaint against State Vigilance Organization (SVO) has been lodged with Governor's office for not initiating action against the accused officer.
In the complaint sent to Governor, it has been alleged that the then Director, RDD Jammu committed financial irregularities and misused MGNREGA funds, during the period 2016-17.
"Pardeep Kumar former Director, RDD, Jammu procured items like RC Bins, Steel Drums, Wheel Barrows and Dust Bin for various Districts of Jammu Division during the period of 2016-17", copy of complaint in possession Early Times read. It has been claimed in the application that guide lines for MGNREGA do not allow Director RDD Jammu to procure material/ items pertaining to the Department of Rural Sanitation.

According sources above said items/ material pertains to the Department of Rural Sanitation and not to directorate of Rural Development. "It will not be out of place to mention here that the J&K SAC has also observed and marked in April 2018, that the Centrally sponsored schemes including MGNREGA is mis-managed and the RDD had failed to give satisfactory information about the Centrally Sponsored schemes (CSS)", sources quoted SAC as having said.
