| Thousands willing to join as SPOs, says DGP | | | Srinagar, Sept 23: Despite the recent killing of three SPO's on Friday, the Director General of Police (DGP) Dilbagh Singh said he has spoken to district Superintendents of Police (SPs). "There are large number of applications lying on my desk. Everyday my SPs are asking me if we can go for fresh recruitment. We are giving big incentive to SPO's in terms of salary and insurance," Singh said. While over a dozen videos surfaced on social media from SPO's disassociating with the force, the Centre had on Friday issued denial to reports of J&K cops resigning from the force and described such reports as 'false propaganda'.
"There is pressure to resign, but we will not be cowed down," an SPO said. |
