9/23/2018 11:19:35 PM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Sept 23: Shishu Gandotra, independent candidate from Ward No 9 comprising of Mohalla Ustad, Karan Nagar and Mohalla Narainia today said that municipal elections not only strengthen democracy but also empower people to take decisions with regards to development of their wards.
This three-tier system of governance, he added also encourages young and new faces to join politics and become part of decision taking institutions.
Supported by common people including his voters and supporters from Ward No 9, he filed nomination papers in the office of returning officer at Dogra Hall and later addressed gathering at his residence. Addressing gathering, he said this election was overdue and now that same stand announced it will prove to be a turning point for Jammu and Kashmir State. The kind of enthusiasm visible proves people's faith in democratic system which is quite a healthy sign.
He added will be an honour and provide me an opportunity to serve every section of society selflessly. I have been observing that this Ward requires better civic amenities that have never been provided. He said Ward No 9 also needs regular and uninterrupted water and power supplies besides good community centres, library, gymnasiums, play fields, parks and parking lots. Once elected priorities would be to ensure that a concrete road map to achieve the above mentioned areas is laid down to make Ward No.9 as a Model Ward.
