NMC expresses concern over slow process of workers' regularization

Jammu, Sept 23: President of the National Mazdoor Conference(NMC) Subash Shastri today expressed deep concern over the slow process of regularization of thousands of daily rated workers working in the various departments years together falls under SRO 520.
He appealed the State Governor administration to immediate amend the said SRO and make it workers/casual laborers friendly in respect of simplifying the procedure ."Since lot of time has been taken to consider and settled , so far less than six hundred cases only be cleared ,it will take several months to finalize said numbers."Shastri said. He also said this is absolute need to undertake to this task on fast track basis as, the working class badly suffering for regularization of their services, he added. He observed that associating concerned head of the departments will facilitate the process and selection to save these daily rated workers from starving.
Hoping that the Governor administration under Governor Satya Pal Malik will address this burning issue on top priority basis, Shastri urged Governor administration to immediately provide funds as to enable respective departments to pay the long pending wages of all daily rated workers engage by different departments who are suffering for want of salaries, certain cases wages has been delayed for years making such workers families miserable adding that the Governor Satya Pal Malik will take personal initiative to make the payment of all pending wages before the ensuing festivals.
Among others who were present in the meeting included Rajan Babu Khajuria, B.S.Jamwal, Surrinder Kumar, Shiv Ram Sharma, Romesh Sharma, Jai Pal Sharma, Ram Singh, Darshan Bawa, Surinder Kumar, Sardhri Lal, Sudesh Bhagat and others.
