J&K Grameen Bank conducts 224 Swachhta Hi Sewa programmes | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU/ Srinagar, Oct 1: In order to mark the participation in 4th anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission, Financial Inclusion and Insurance Department of J&K Grameen Bank under the chairmanship of Janak Raj Angural and in collaboration with NABARD has conducted 224 Swachhata Hi Sewa programmes across the state in various villages of the districts including Jammu, Rajouri, Poonch, Kathua, Samba, Bandipora, Baramulla, Leh, Kargil and Kupwara from September 15, 2018 to October 2, 2018. Janak Raj Angural, Chairman J&K Grameen Bank expressed his appreciation towards the staff who has conducted the campaign with great zeal and enthusiasm in order to make the GOI mission a tremendous success. He added that J&K Grameen bank has contributed to its maximum possible extend to spread the awareness regarding sanitation and hygiene and to make the environment clean and green in the said period as per the directives of GOI. He further added that J&K Grameen Bank is and will always take a lead in all the initiatives of GOI be it Gram Swaraj Abhiyaan, Village Level Programs, Financial Literacy week and Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan etc. Romesh Vaid, General Manager J&K Grameen Bank said that environmental cleanliness begins with each individual desire to be clean so emphasized to entire workforce of the bank to actively join the cleanliness mission. He added that our 224 branches and offices across the state have conducted camps till date and today branch offices Chandilora and Dhargloon have conducted the Swachhta Hi Sewa programmes. Vipan Gupta, HOD, Financial Inclusion and insurance Department, J&K Grameen Bank, expressed his gratitude towards every branch and office of J&K Grameen bank for conducting Swachhta Hi Seva Programme in their respective villages from 15th September 2018 to 2nd October 2018 in which the masses were enlightened regarding the importance of clean environment and the various ways by which the surroundings can be kept clean and green was imparted. The rural masses are imparted knowledge regarding better sanitation practices like using a toilet, handwashing, health and hygiene awareness etc. The activities including cleaning of streets, drains and back alleys and waste collection drives in households and common or shared spaces are also conducted during the programmes. |
