DSEJ holds patriotic song competition, 15 teams participated | | | Early Times Report
Kathua, Oct 5: Directorate of School Education in collaboration with Directorate of Sainik Welfare Board and J&K Academy of Culture & languages organized a district level patriotic songs and essay writing competition in the premises of Government Degree College for women Kathua. Bishan Singh CEO Kathua was chief guest on the occasion whereas Dr Sushma Kumar Culture officer DSE Jammu, Surinder Manhas singer, Suraj Singh singer judged the programme. Government Higher Secondary School Barwal stood first, HSS Kootah stood second whereas HSS Parnala secured 3rd position in song competition. 15 teams from different government schools participated in the competition. The winners will participate in inter-district competition then final programme one Flag Day Dec 7. Dr Sushma who is also co-ordinator of the programme, informed that DSEJ, Directorate Sainik Welfare Board and J&K academy for culture & languages jointly took initiative to develop patriotic attitude among students across the state. The officer informed that the main aim of the initiative to develop respect for national flags, Indian army and nation. The officer added that the first phase of the programme will held all the districts wherein 3 winners from all districts will further participate in second phase. She disclosed that 3 winners from second phase will present their culture items in third phase on December 7 Flag day in the presence of His Excellency Governor Satya Pal Malik. |
