BJP leadership receives discouraging feedback from ground | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 5: Notwithstanding tall claims, top leadership of BJP is a worried lot because party has received discouraging feedback about on going elections in the civic bodies. Party candidates have been locked in close fight in most of the wards in Jammu region due to prevailing anger against sitting legislators and ex-ministers. Credible sources said that situation is going out of control from BJP leadership with every passing day because common masses are openly airing their anger against sitting MLAs who have done nothing for the welfare of the people. Sources said that it was all due to discouraging feedback from the ground that BJP leadership is holding election review meeting everyday to intensify campaign. On the one hand BJP is expelling rebels in installments while on the other hand party has deputed senior leaders in different wards to help weak candidates. The BJP leadership has re-devised its strategy because large numbers of party rebels are spoiling chances of party candidates On Wednesday evening, BJP had expelled 15 leaders from the party who have been contesting elections as rebels in different wards of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC). Today party has expelled eight more. Although BJP leadership is desperately trying to downplay rebels' role, party candidates have already cautioned state leaders that they (rebels) would queer the pitch. Failure of the BJP leadership to persuade its rebels has brightened prospects of Congress to retrieve its lost ground in Jammu region in the civic bodies elections. |
