Brother of slain LeT militant commander joins ranks | LeT resurfaces in Kishtwar after 7 years | | Asif Iqbal Naik Early Times Report kishtwar, Oct 5: After spreading its tentacles of terror across Kashmir valley, the Pakistan based dreaded militant organization Lashker-e-Toiba has resurfaced in Kishtwar; 7 years after Kishtwar District was declared as Lashker free after the elimination of top rank commander Habib Gujjar alias Salman in an encounter at Nagnigard Keshwan on 4-10-2011. As per the details available with ET, 32 year old Jamal Din son of Khair Din Gujjar resident of Keshwan, the younger brother of slain commander who was missing since last September had joined the Lashker-e-Toiba and his photograph was released in social media by a Pakistan based terrorist through his mobile number in a group "Voice of Kashmir". As soon as the photo of Jamal Din carrying weapon was released by the Lashker outfit, the security forces in Kashmir alerted the Kishtwar police and after verification, it was confirmed that he (Jamal) had joined the militancy and formally declared him as a militant. The newly joined Lashker militant Jamal Din was involved in FIR No. 248 of 2010 registered by Kishtwar Police in connection with the murder of the mother of encounter specialist cop Sub Inspector Qasim Din and had remained in jail for years before he was granted bail by court. He was also arrested by the Kishtwar police on 12-08-2015 after he along with his brother was found moving under suspicious circumstances wearing Burka and ladies dresses. Sources said that in order to give impetuous to its activities in Chenab valley belt, the militant organization were trying to lure surrender militants beside motivating the juveniles who are students of the 9th and 10th class. As per the sources, the anti national elements having links with militant organizations had recently managed to sneak into two Prime Educational Institutions by brain washing the Children in age group of 13-16 years, but timely efforts of Kishtwar Police foiled the attempt. Efforts are now on to counsel over two dozen students who are believe to be influenced by some motivator. The sources said that few militants last month managed to escape the police and army cordon from Kishtwar town with the help of some of these minor students. The sources said that around four youths from Kishtwar District along with three non locals Indian residents are the parts of a militant group operating in Gadool area of neighboring Anantnag District of South Kashmir. It is pertinent to mention that several youths are reportedly missing from Doda and Kishtwar Districts of Chenab valley and police is searching them with the help of some locals. |
