ETT scam: HC asks Edu deptt to submit all records before CB | | | Early Times Report Srinagar, Oct 5: : The J&K High Court on Friday directed the School Education department to submit before Crime Branch all records and particulars of those officials who are involved in a scam involving Elementary Teachers Training. Hearing a Public Interest Litigation, a Division Bench of Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice Alok Aradhe passed the direction after perusal of a status report filed by the IGP Crime Branch Kashmir in tune with previous directions. IGP in his status report submitted that the School Education authorities are not cooperating with the investigating agency. After these submissions, the court observed that non-cooperation on part of the Education department authorities suggests that the officers in the department are involved in the scam which has culminated into an FIR 36/2013. In view of these facts, the court directed the Director, School Education, to place all record pertaining to the case before the investigating agency as also the details of those officials against whom FIR is registered. The court has also left it open for the Crime Branch to take action against all the concerned who are not cooperating. An inquiry conducted by the Board of School Education (BOSE) into the training course by the ETT colleges has already described it a "big scandal run by mafia in league with the top brass in the BOSE." The investigators arrested some officials of the BOSE including its former chairman in connection with the case. They were later released on bail. |
