Early Times Report JAMMU, Oct 12: The BSF Inter Frontier Games of Judo-Wushu-Gymnastic-Taekwondo which were being held at Hargobind Bhatnagar Stadium, BSF Campus, Paloura concluded today with an impressive and colorful ceremony. A total of 900 sportsmen of all Frontiers of Border Security Force participated in these four days competitions. Jammu Frontier excelled in the games competition and won Championship for 2018. During the conduct of these competitions, talented players of various disciplines have been selected. These selected players will be put through intensive coaching at respective places of concentration under seasoned coaches. Game wise tally is as - 1. JUDO: Ist - North Bengal, IInd - Punjab and Rajasthan, 2. Wushu : Ist - Jammu, IInd - South Bengal, IIIrd - Tripura, 3. Gymnastic : Ist - Jammu, IInd - Punjab and Gujarat, 4. Taekwondo : Ist - Jammu, IInd - Gujarat, IIIrd - Punjab. Speaking on the occasion, Ram Awtar, IG BSF, while reiterating the commitment for better and healthy life, said that outdoor games leads to physical as well as mental health of soldiers who are dedicated to serve the nation with higher synergy levels. BSF has recognized the need to maintain a proper equilibrium between a healthy mind and healthy body to achieve sustained professional efficiency. Sports not only develop leadership qualities, esprit-de-corps and discipline but also inculcate a sense of brotherhood, cooperation and camaraderie. |
