| BCET organizes guest lecture on new technologies in concrete | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 12: Bhargava College of Engineering and Technology organized a Guest Lecture on new Technologies and materials in concrete and its emphasis on cold weather concreting.
The resource person was Prof. Javid Ahmed Naqash Head of Civil Department, National Institute of Technology Srinagar. Prof. M.S Baloria Director of the College extended a warm welcome to the resource person and introduced him as an expert in his field. He further said that Prof. Naqash is a post graduate in Civil Engineering from IIT Delhi and he got his Doctorate Degree from IIT Roorkdee.
The resource person discussed in detail various new technologies and material to be used in concrete and its emphasis on cold weather concreting. He also discussed the need of research in cold weather concreting as it is need of the construction industry to deal with weather and also ensure proper quality assurance. Prof. Naqash also headed placement cell of National Institute of Technology Srinagar so with his vast experience in the field, he discussed various carrier options after engineering course. At the end an interactive session was conducted in which various queries were answered by the resource persons to the full satisfaction of the students.
