JAMMU, Nov 1: National Institute of Biologicals, an autonomous institution under the aegis of Minisrty of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, participated in the event "Rise in Jammu & Kashmir 2018", a mega event represented by various National institutions / organisations exhibiting their respective areas of services to the nation from the 1st to 3rd November 2018, at Yatri Niwas, Bhagwathinagar, Jammu. The team was led by Dr.Reba Chhabra, I/c Deputy Director, Quality Control along with three NIB scientists Shalini Tewari, Subhash Chand, P.S.Chandranand & two biologists Ashrath Elahi and Faraz Sheikh. The main focus of NIB in the event is to promote national skill development, create awareness & to provide training facilities in Quality Control testing of Biologicals & also to disseminate knowledge on various activities related to quality of biological drugs in the treatment of life threating diseases like cancer, Haemophilia, Diabetes, Heart disease, kidney disorders, and diagnosis of tranfusion transmited infections like Hepatitis B & C, Syphilis, HIV and other seasonal diseases like Dengue, Chikungunya etc. NIB showcased its multidimensional activities viz; Career & Training opportunities in the field of Biologicals. Its contribution to the academia & health care professionals in the state of Jammu & Kashmir pertaining to QC testing of Biologicals & Haemovigilance Program of India (HvPI). Its role of Central Drug Laboratory CDL by assuring the quality of biologicals marketed in the country to protect and promote public health. Utilisation of its resources in strengthening of blood services in neighbouring countries like Bhutan, Bangladesh, Nepal & testing of Vaccines for Bangladesh. Providing Hands on training to Blood Bank Officials in collaboration with Blood Cell, National Health Mission, Mininstry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt. Of India. Demonstrated mobile app based Point of Care Blood Glucose monitoring devices to all those who visited NIB s |
