Jammu, Nov 22: In a joint meeting of various Kashmiri Pandit organizations unanimously welcomed the court verdict delivered on 20 Nov 2018, against the accused involved in the anti-Sikh riots of 1984. Kashmiri Pandits see a ray of hope in this verdict as it concerns an event which is 5 years older than our own genocide that took place in 1989-90. Drawing solace from this verdict, Kashmiri Pandits feel that this conviction, first in the wide-spread killings of Sikhs in 1984, post- Indira Gandhi's assassination, through the efforts of Special Investigation Team (SIT) can also be adopted to nail our killers, some of who are still roaming quite freely in Kashmir. Kashmiri Pandits once again appeal to the powers that be, to open our cases and bring to book those who were responsible for our genocide and exodus from our homes in 1989-90. The meeting presided over by AIKS President Col Tej K Tikoo, was attended by Sanjay Ganjoo, Manoj Bhan, Amit Raina, Manish Jalali and Sanjeev Gautam. |
