Vocational trainers urge Guv to resolve grievances | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 22: Vocational Trainers (VTs) working in various schools of the state under the banner of Vocational Trainers Association (VTA), Jammu and Kashmir has appealed the Governor to take a sympathetic consideration to their grievances and initiate necessary steps to resolve them at the earliest. In a representation submitted to the Governor, the Vocational Trainers said that they are working in various schools of J&K under the project National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) which is being run by Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan, a sponsored scheme of Ministry of Human Resource Development. The representation further said that more than 700 VTs are working in different schools of the state for the last 2 years and their monthly salary is being paid through VTPs (Private Companies). However, the salaries are released after long intervals thereby making the VTs to suffer adding that VTs haven't received the salaries for the last six months. VTA representation said that the VTPs are also not paying the previous dues such as industrial visits and guest lecture expenditures adding that the VTPs are not adhering to the Labour Laws and Company Act. VTA said that its parent department Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan has never ever given any clear picture of the current scenario and put us in a situation of confusion and cues. Department doesn't seems interested in resolving the problems of Vocational Trainers. The association urged the Governor to frame a proper policy of transfer, annual increment and leaves. The VTA appealed that the VTPs should be removed and a mechanism of job security may be put in place and timely release of monthly salary onwards should be assured. |
