JAMMU, Dec 11: Mission Director, National Health Mission, J&K Bhupinder Kumar today inaugurated three days Orientation cum Induction Training Workshop for Mid Level Health Provider (MLHPs) posted at Health and Wellness Centres of Jammu Division (2 Batches). Mission Director delivered a brief introduction regarding Comprehensive Primary Health Care and establishment of Health and Wellness centres. The Orientation cum induction training workshop was organised by National Health Mission, J&K. The purpose of induction training workshop is to provide orientation regarding operationalization of Health and Wellness Centres, 12 packages of Comprehensive Primary Health Care services to be provided at HWCs. The main focus is introduction of Population Based Screening of Non- Communicable Diseases (Hypertension and Diabetes) and Common Cancers viz; Breast, Oral and Cervical Cancer of population aged 30 years and above. The disease burden due to Non- Communicable Diseases has increased tremendously and is involving even younger generation. The treatment cost to individual / community/ and for the country for managing the complicated cases is very high. To deal with high burden of Non Communicable disease government of India has launched the programme of Ayushman Bharat. The objective of the programme is to detect the diseases in early stage so that the development of complication can be prevented and also provide treatment at Community level. The Resource persons who took the sessions on various topics included: Dr. Om Kumar, Programme Manager, NDCPs, SHS, J&K, Dr. Rajiv K Gupta, Professor, Department of SPM, GMC Jammu and Dr. Narinder Bhatial, Programme Manager, Quality Assurance. Inaugural Secession was also attended by Veena Thapa, Director Planning (P&S), NHM, J&K. and Dr. Harjeet Rai, Divisional Nodal Officer, Jammu. |
