Kathua, Dec 11: Public Health Engineering Department PHE which is responsible for supplying clean and safe drinking water to the people is playing with the lives of people in Tehsil Nagri of District Kathua. A cemented gallery hanging over the head of the tank from last one and half month may fall anytime. However, the PHE seems in no mood to take the remedial measures. Ironically he tank lacks a boundary wall and cattle roam into the `danger zone'. Moreover children usually play near the tank. An accident, therefore, may cause loss of human lives and livestock, the locals said.
The locals have demanded repair of the tank and a boundary wall around it. |
