JAMMU, Dec 11: In order to instill love for poetry and to develop recitation skills amongst the little ones, DPS Jammu organized an Inter-Section English Recitation Competition for the students of Class Prep. The students showcased their talents by reciting poems on a variety of topics such as "Save Girl Child", "Say No to Corruption", "Say No to Poly Bags", "Save Tress", "Our National Flag", etc. All the participants actively participated and gave a tough competition to each other. The first position was bagged by Mamliket Malik (Prep-D) and Amaya Vaid (Prep-E) while Lakshita Gupta (Prep-B) and Syed Hansa (Prep-B) stood second and the third position was secured by Jeevika Manhas (Prep-D) and Shahzaib Jaffer (Prep-A). The consolation prizes were received by Harshit Manchanda (Prep-B) and Aanya Nargotra (Prep-A). Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra congratulated all participants and urged the teachers to instill in them appreciation and value for their country, surroundings, culture and nature through poetry. Headmistress, Meenu Gupta appreciated the students and laid stress on such activities which helps in developing confidence and overall development of the students. The competition was adjudged by Richa Gupta, School Faculty. Preeti Abrol, Coordinator-Pre Primary wing was also present on the occasion. |
