JAMMU, Dec 11: Springdales School, celebrated its 35th Annual Day based on the theme "Metamorphosis" (The Human Story) at Zorawar Singh Auditorium amidst great zest, vibrancy and elation. Syed Khalid Majid Drabu, Special Secretary J&K Govt. PHE, I&FC Department was the Chief Guest on the occasion and Brig. Harcharan Singh, Director Rajya Sainik Board was present as the Guest of Honour. The Chairman of the school V.K Malhotra accompanied by the Vice Chairperson Rashmi Malhotra welcomed the Chief Guest by presenting a floral bouquet .Thereafter the director Gourav Malhotra welcomed the Guest of Honour by presenting a floral bouquet. The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the Worthy Chairman VK Malhotra, Vice Chairperson, Rashmi Malhota, Honourable Chief Guest Drabu, Guest of Honour Brig. Harcharan Singh, Director Gaurav Malhotra, Principal Shashi Kiran Bedi and Vice Principal Niti Dhami and other members of the society followed by recitation of Sanskrit shlokas. The Principal Shashi Kiran Bedi welcomed the eminent guests and shared the school's Annual Report which highlighted the glorious achievements and accomplishment of the students. The entire auditorium reverberated with the energy and superb theatrics of the actors through an array of dances viz. Nigerian, Ball Dance, Vandematram, Classical, Dogri, Bhangra, Alien Dance. The apex part of the programme was the screening a video film made by the students on the burning issue of garbage and waste. The film's title was "Talking Trash" (Threat to Future) and was intended to make children aware of the issue. Later in the prize distribution ceremony, the budding stars were adorned with awards for excellence in academics, sports, music, art etc by the Honourable Chief Guest. Thereafter, in his address the chief guest congratulated the achievers in the various arenas and accentuated that Springdales to be the Pioneer in the field of education. |
