JAMMU, Dec 15: Shiv Sena Bala Sahib Thackeray, J&K Unit, met former member Rajya Sabha, Dr Karan Singh and discussed various issues concerning political development in State. Dimpy Kohli, State President of Shiv Sena, said that the people of Jammu region have been meted out step motherly treatment in the State. He said despite lodging strong protests against the non-fulfillment of common demand of public of holiday on the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh, the State Government has been failed to represent the aspirations of people of Jammu region in the forthcoming year. Pertinent to mention here that the resolution for declaration of the holiday on birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh on September 23 has already stands approved by the Legislative Council of J and K State. Kohli apprised Dr Karan Singh about the list of holidays to be observed throughout the State for year 2019 issued by the General Administration Department of J&K which clearly showed that there will be no holiday on September 23 in 2019. "The people of Jammu region are facing discrimination on all fronts whether it is allocation of Budget, share of government jobs, medical and engineering seats, development, school and sports infrastructure, etc.," Kohli said. "Jammu feels more isolated, marginalised and threatened by fundamentalist forces more than ever today. Sentiments of lakhs of people are still closely attached with Hari Singh's visionary social reforms, stand for justice and building of solid institutions," Kohli said. |
